Hypnosis is often wrongly associated with a loss of control, due to how it is portrayed in stage and "entertainment hypnosis".
Hypnosis is simply a natural and altered state of consciousness where we feel relaxed, calm and more receptive to suggestions. This state allows access to the subconscious mind, where our past events and learned experiences are stored.
The subconscious mind is an extraordinary resource during therapy because it is where the beliefs that shaped us are formed, impacting the way we feel and react to life in general.
Working at a subconscious level is what allows change the meanings we attach to certain events, hence changing the beliefs we formed in consequence.
By bypassing the critical factor, we interrupt the thoughts that no longer serve us and we replace them with new empowering beliefs for a major permanent change.
